October 17, 2025

Ronald Leroy Sites, age 77, of Knoxville, Iowa, passed away at his home on October
14, 2025. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 1:00 p.m.
until 3:00p.m. at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Knoxville.
Ron was born on June 27, 1948, to Don and Betty (Morales) Sites. He was proud of his
roots and the values instilled in him from a young age.
He spent much of his career at Pella Corporation in Pella, Iowa, where he worked as a
painter. A dedicated employee, Ron, took pride in his work and forged lasting
friendships during his time there.
A true sports fan, Ron, could often be found cheering on the Green Bay Packers, the
Iowa State Cyclones, and the New York Yankees. He had a deep interest in Native
American history and held a special admiration for wolves.
Ron found joy in the simple pleasures of life, listening to classic country music, watching
old Westerns, fishing, mowing the lawn, and tending to his vegetable garden. These
were more than hobbies to him they were ways of connecting with the world around
him.
Stubborn and a little bullheaded at times, Ron was also known for his generous heart.
He was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need, often without being asked.
Ron’s presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of his
children, extended family, friends, and all who knew him.
Ron is survived by his son, Kirby (Libby) Sites; his daughter, Jami Sites; his
grandchildren: Michael DeGoey, Cassidy DeGoey, Sara (Preston) Fowler, Megan (Troi)
Maupins, Kyle (Hannah) Sites, and Emily Sites; and great-grandchildren: Melanie, Nora,
Lily, Jay, Evelyn, and Annabelle.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Don and Betty Sites, and his brother, Don
Sites Jr.
