Mass of Christian Burial for Phyllis Ripperger, 83, of Lacona, will be Monday, December
29, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lacona. Interment will be at
the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.

Funeral Home in Lacona. A rosary will be held at 6:00 p.m. following the visitation.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lacona Fire Department.
Phyllis was born on January 20, 1942, to Herman and Eva Miller at home on the farm.
She grew up around the Lacona area going to school in Bauer and later, Lacona High
School graduating the last year it was open in 1959.
Phyllis married the love of her life, Delbert Ripperger, on January 13, 1962, and created
a wonderful life together. Delbert sadly passed away in 2015 leaving behind Phyllis and
their three children: Cindy, Curt and Joseph.
There were many things Phyllis will be remembered for. She spent time working at
Bankers Life in Des Moines, Indianola Record Herold and also ‘served time’ as a home
maker for her family. She spent a lot of time in the kitchen making her famous fried
chicken and even taught her grandchildren a few things in the kitchen as well.
There weren’t many things Phyllis couldn’t do. As a true homemaker, she took care of
everything. She always had a smile on her face and a kind greeting. Spending time with
family and friends was her favorite hobby and Sundays were considered ‘fun-days’.
Phyllis was a great bowler and enjoyed spending time at the bowling alley. If someone
needs help or taken care of, Phyllis was one of the best to do the job, including the
great care she always provided for her mother.
Phyllis passed away December 22, 2025. She was welcomed home by her husband
Delbert, her parents, siblings: Rosemary Bauer, Rita Ripperger, Delores Bauer,
Clarence Miller, Darrell Miller and Allen Miller.
She will be greatly missed by her children: Cindy (Dan) Hart, Curt (Renee) Ripperger,
and Joseph (Kim) Ripperger; seven grandchildren: Kasey Ripperger, John Hart,
Kaylene (Gerald) Gall, Katie (Trevor) Swanson, Karie (Aaron) Payette, Kara Bernal and
Wendy Cannon; eleven great grandchildren; siblings: Wilford Miller, Marie (Robert)
Glass, Paulene (Roger) Wadle; sisters-in-law: Karen Miller, Pat Hoch, Louise (Chanley)
Stanley, Maggie Ripperger; along with many friends and other family members.
