Marvin “Dizz” Conrad
January 02, 2026
A celebration of life for Marvin “Dizz” Conrad, 66, of Knoxville, will be held Saturday,
January 3, 2026, from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. at Pierschbacher's. A service will be held at
4:00 p.m. following the visitation.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in care of the family.
Dizz was born on July 27, 1959, in Iowa City, Iowa to his parents, Marcel and Floris
Conrad. He grew up in the Marion County area and later graduated with the class of
1979 at Melcher-Dallas high school. Even after graduating, he never missed an
opportunity to support the school and still enjoyed watching football games in his
hometown.
Always a hard worker, Dizz worked at a few different businesses such as Hewitts in
Monroe where he was a welder and raceway tires repairing and patching tires, two
places of which he really enjoyed working. He also subcontracted at 3M for some time
and then eventually spent the last 16 years of his time until retirement in 2023 at
Vermeer. Even following the years after retirement, he stayed friends with many people
from his past workplaces, especially Vermeer.
Many people would describe Dizz as someone who was very easy to get along with and
was always finding ways to have fun. Hunting and fishing and boating were things Dizz
did to relax in his spare time. When the Cowboys play on Sunday nights, you could
catch him in front of TV cheering on his team. He enjoyed spending time with his family,
especially his grandkids, who also could make him light up a room. Dizz always had
something to joke or complain about but with high spirits. On occasion, he enjoyed
spending time at the casino especially on the machines, but only when he was winning!
Dizz is survived by siblings: Marilyn, Mark, and Monte; ex-wife, Wanda Hudson;
children: Joshua Bennett and Danielle Bennett; six grandchildren: Veronica, Felix,
Juanita, DoraMae, Daphne, and Zeke; along with many many nieces, nephews,
relatives, and friends.
Dizz passed away December 21, 2025, at the University of Iowa Hospital. He was
preceded in death by his parents: Marcel Anthony and Floris Mary Conrad; and siblings:
Michael, Marcella, Marty, Melvin, Marcia, and infant twins.
