June 18, 1949 - November 28, 2025
Francis Christopher Bingaman, 76, of Waynesville, NC passed away on November 28,
2025, at his home.
Chris was born on June 18, 1949, in Albia, IA, to the late Mike Leo Bingaman and Kathryn
Evelyn Carr Bingaman. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by Victoria Ann
(Lucas) Bingaman; one brother, Richard Bingaman (wife Mary Lou); and one niece, Christy
Bingaman.
Chris was the beloved husband of Linda Bingaman. For over 28 years, they cherished and
enjoyed their life together with many adventures and moves throughout the US. Chris
graduated in Iowa, from Albia High School in 1967 and went on to receive his Degree in
Liberal Arts from Centerville Community College in 1969. He had a 30-year career with
Pirelli Tire (formerly Armstrong) as the Plant Production Superintendent. He was a loving
and much-loved husband, father, and grandfather. He loved three things the most in life: his
wife and family, the beach, and Yankees baseball
Chris is survived by his wife, Linda; a daughter, Melyssa Oldenburg (husband Andrew); two
adored granddaughters, Annabella and Ava Oldenburg; one brother, Don Bingaman (wife
Becky); a sister, Mary Kay Luscri; six nephews Bill Bingaman, Mike Bingaman (wife
Bridget), Tony Luscri, Nicky Luscri, Mike Luscri, and Patrick Luscri (wife Emily); one niece,
Kathryn Luscri ; a grand-niece, Isabella; a grand-nephew, Jackson; father-in-law, Bud Porter
(wife Joyce); a brother-in-law, Guy Porter (wife Jeanne); and a sister-in-law, Lisa Moore
(husband Mike).
The Bingaman and Oldenburg families would like to express their sincerest thanks to
Haywood Hospice for their kindness and support, as well as Smoky Mountain Cremations
and Funeral Service.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Knoxville, Iowa in Spring 2026. Date to be announced at
a later time.
