The Pleasantville Community School District has named Dr. Jenni McCrory as the district’s next superintendent, pending final board approval at an upcoming meeting.
Dr. McCrory currently serves as elementary principal and district special education director for the Prairie City-Monroe Community School District. She brings more than 20 years of experience in education, including extensive leadership in instructional systems, special education, and district-wide continuous improvement efforts.
“We are thrilled that Dr. McCrory will be our new superintendent,” said Pleasantville CSD Board President Carol Beier. “She brings a wealth of experience as an administrator to the position. Throughout her experience, her focus has always been on student learning—helping students to learn at the highest possible level by supporting and leading the teachers and staff that are guiding their learning.”
Throughout her career, Dr. McCrory has demonstrated a strong commitment to student achievement, organizational excellence, and collaborative leadership. She has led initiatives focused on curriculum alignment, multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS), and data-driven decision making to improve outcomes for all students. Her experience also includes oversight of district programming, professional learning, and strategic planning efforts, along with fostering strong relationships among staff, families, and community stakeholders.
Dr. McCrory began her career in education as a middle school band director before moving into school leadership, where she has served in multiple administrative roles, including as an elementary principal for more than a decade. She holds a doctor of education in educational administration with a superintendent endorsement.
“It is an honor to join the Pleasantville Community School District as its next superintendent,” Dr. McCrory said. “I am excited to lead a district that puts students first, values its staff and builds strong partnerships with the community. I look forward to listening and learning from staff, students, families, community members, and the Board of Education to deepen my understanding and support continued success.”
The board partnered with Grundmeyer Leader Services to assist with conducting the search and reviewing all qualified candidates.
“We are excited to have Dr. McCrory join us and guide Pleasantville CSD to keep moving forward as a district dedicated to students and learning,” said Beier. “On behalf of the entire board, I want to publicly thank the more than 40 people who served on the mixed interview teams or as tour guides. Your input was invaluable in assisting the board in reaching its decision. Let’s welcome Dr. McCrory to the Trojan family!”
