Learn to Play: Ticket to Ride!

by Press Release

Attention board game enthusiasts! On Monday, June 8, at 6 p.m. you’re invited to learn to play Ticket to Ride at the Pella Public Library.  Join Mike Smith to learn how to play this fun game where you also get to play with little train cars and learn a bit of geography.

Ticket to Ride is an easy-to-learn, 22-year-old classic. It’s a Euro-style game where everyone is involved in the game until the end when you add up the points and discover the winner.  The original version uses a map of the United States and Southern Canada.  You’ll be able to try this version, plus two city versions, New York and London, which have smaller maps and a shorter play time.

Multiple sets of the game will be available for groups to play for as long as time allows.  Have your own copy?  You can bring it and have a table for your group.

We’ll have another Learn to Play night on Monday, July 13 which will also feature a game from the library’s board game collection.

Registration is suggested for planning purposes at https://pella-ia.whofi.com/ or by calling the library at 641-628-4268.

This program will take place in the library’s Meeting Room.  It is free and open to ages 12+.
