Structure Fire 2700 blk W. Larson
June 10, 2026
On June 10, 2026 at 0354 hours, the Knoxville Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire
in the 2700 blk of W. Larson St. While enroute crews were notified from dispatch that the fire
had started in the garage that it was attached to the residence. Knoxville City Fire Department
responded with 1 engine company, 1 EMS company, 1 Truck company and 2 command officers.
When crews arrived, they found a single-story home with extensive fire coming from the garage.
Crews stretched 2 hoses lines and started making fire attack. Incident command on scene
requested a working fire assignment bring more resources to the scene. Crews were able to stop
the fire from spreading to the home from the attached garage. Crews conducted search and was
able to rescue the family dog that was inside the home. Crews conducted salvage and overhaul
operations. Due to the construction, there was extensive overhaul that was needed. Crews were
on scene until 0848 working to extinguish hot spots.
Four occupants and four pets were displaced from the fire and being assisted by the Red Cross.
The fire is currently under investigation with no cause at this time. The garage and its contents
are considered a total lost with some smoke, heat and water damage in parts of the home.

Indiana Township Fire Department, Pleasantville Fire Department, Marion County EMA,
Marion County Sherriff’s Office Dispatch, Pella EMS, Alliant and Mid-American utility
companies.
