Central College Wins Three Best of District VI CASE Awards
Central College received three Best of District VI awards from the Midwest Division of the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) for communications and marketing content produced in 2025.
Two of the awards centered around Dutchology, Central's alumni magazine. One was for Dutchology's refresh, which won the alumni/general interest magazine category for four-year colleges and universities, printed twice a year. The alumni magazine was formerly known as Civitas, and underwent a rebranding process during the last academic year, which increased readership and amplified its storytelling with more positive news coming from alumni, students and faculty.
Dutchology's website launch also won the online magazine category. The online debut of the newly revamped magazine put user experience top of mind. The new website is more mobile-friendly and has a simplified layout on all platforms. It is a one-stop hub for the current issue of Dutchology, as well as an archive for past editions.
The third award was for the launch video of Central's A World of Good campaign, which won the long-form stewardship and fundraising category. The ongoing campaign aims to not only raise funds for Central but encourages students, staff, faculty and alumni to spread goodwill throughout their communities. The launch video was put together with help from Harry Smith, journalist and 1973 graduate, who lent his storytelling and voiceover skills to the project. The video was put together by Central communications staff over several months and helped set the largest fundraising goal in Central history.
"The Central staff members, trustees and alumni who put in months of work for each of these projects deserve the recognition they're receiving by CASE," says Sunny Gonzales Eighmy, vice president for advancement and a 1999 Central graduate. "Central has an innovative team of professionals who are willing to pilot new ideas and make changes that enhance our work. It's a pleasure to work with such creative and driven people, who want Central to be the best it can be."
CASE District VI/Mid-America includes public and private colleges and universities in Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wyoming. A full list of this year's awards and information on each of them can be found on CASE's website.
